Sometimes people spend their time or money on an idea a person or a group.

They might hope to get more time or money back from the person, idea or group.

This might not happen straight away.

When a person spends time or money on another person or group because they hope to get more time and money back in the future, it is sometimes called an investment.

It might also be called making an investment.

There are lots of different sorts of investment.
